Associate Professor Ronil V. Chandra is a Harvard-trained Interventional Neuroradiologist who specialises in the assessment and treatment of patients with aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, dural arteriovenous fistulas and other vascular disorders of the head, neck, brain and spinal cord. He received his Diagnostic Neuroradiology Fellowship from The Royal Melbourne Hospital, Australia and was awarded the Thomas Baker Fellowship from the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists. He moved to Boston, United States of America for further sub-specialty training where he received his Fellowship in Interventional Neuroradiology/Endovascular Neurosurgery from Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School.

Ronil now works at Monash Health as part of the multidisciplinary Neurovascular Surgery service, treating patients with brain aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, and dural arteriovenous fisultas of the brain and spinal cord. At Monash Health, he is the Head of Neurovascular Imaging research, and has a joint appointment as Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery and the Department of Medicine at Monash University. He has authored over 60 publications and book chapters; he lectures regularly as invited faculty at local and international conferences including the annual Harvard Post Graduate Neuroradiology Course. He is a senior member of the Society of Neurointerventional Surgery, member of the World Federation of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology, the Asian-Australasian Federation of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology, the American Society of Neuroradiology, the European Society of Neuroradiology, the Australian and New Zealand Society of Neuroradiology, Stroke Society of Australasia, the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association and the European Society of Radiology.

He co-founded Monash Neurovascular Institute a comprehensive care model where patients can access unbiased multidisciplinary expertise — for both open and endovascular neurosurgery — in one practice, throughout their clinical management. Ronil provides consultations and minimally invasive endovascular treatments for patients with brain aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations and dural arteriovenous fisultas of the brain and spinal cord.  He also performs pre-operative embolization of vascular tumours and malformations of the brain, head, neck and spine.
